FileSaver.ai Privacy Policy
Effective 4 September 2026. Covers the FileSaver.ai browser extension, the FileSaver desktop agent, and the FileSaver.ai web app.
FileSaver.ai saves your own AI conversations so you can find them again. This policy explains what the software reads, where it sends it, and what it never does. The short version: your conversations go to your own computer and, if you sign in, to your own FileSaver account. Nobody else gets them.
1. What the browser extension reads
The extension runs only on the AI services listed in its permissions (Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Kimi, Midjourney, Perplexity, v0, Google Labs, Sora, ElevenLabs, Veed, CapCut and Canva). On those pages it reads:
- The conversation you have open: the messages, the conversation title and its address, and, on Claude.ai, the files and artifacts the assistant created for you.
- Drafts you are typing, so that an unsent message is not lost.
- With your FileSaver account signed in, your full conversation history on Claude.ai and ChatGPT, fetched from those services using the same session your browser already has. This is how conversations from your phone and your other computers reach FileSaver. The extension only ever reads your own account.
The extension does not read any other website, your browsing history, your passwords, or your payment details.
2. Where your conversations go

Nothing is sent anywhere else. There are no analytics or advertising trackers in the extension, the agent, or the web app.
3. Sign-in information
Signing in uses your email address and a password, or Google sign-in. With Google sign-in we receive your email address and name from Google; we do not receive your Google password and cannot see your Google data. Sign-in tokens are kept in the extension's own storage on your computer and are used only to write to your account.
4. How we use the information
To save your conversations, show them back to you, let you search them, and keep your devices in sync. We do not sell your information, share it with third parties for their own purposes, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. We do not use your conversations to train any model.
5. Service providers
- Supabase hosts the database and authentication for FileSaver accounts.
- Vercel hosts the web app.
- Google provides optional Google sign-in.
Each of these processes data only to provide its hosting or sign-in service.
6. Retention and deletion
Files saved by the desktop agent stay on your computer until you delete them. Conversations in your FileSaver account stay until you delete them in the web app or ask us to delete your account, after which they are removed from the live database. Signing out of the extension stops all cloud saving immediately; removing the extension stops all capture.
7. Security
Cloud data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with per-account access rules enforced by the database, so one account cannot read another account's conversations. No system is perfectly secure, and you should not rely on FileSaver.ai as the only copy of anything irreplaceable.
8. Children
FileSaver.ai is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
